State food safety inspection was successful and we are now open for business!
What a day!
Mona and I produced our first commercial batch of Appalachian Sweet Dreams today, under the watchful eyes of the state inspector, and we are now selling our first product! I was pretty nervous the entire time, I admit. It seems like I fumbled everything and time seemed to slow down – I felt like each step was taking forever. But the long hours of preparation and designing our processes paid off and we passed.
Mona kept saying as we drove from the production facility home, “We passed. We passed. We passed.” It seems to have taken a long time to get here with so many steps to get done. Those of you who have started a small business (or many small businesses) know this for sure, but it’s our first time. Hey, we passed!
We are still working on making the artwork on the SHOP section a bit snazzier, but you can buy on the website and we will ship the next business day!
I’m already deep into testing the next two formulas and will blog more about this later. Right now, the blends are going by: Appalachian CALM+FOCUS and Appalachian Passion.
